SATELLITE SEMINAR #4 Tuesday November 12, 2002 Topic: The Environmental
Dimensions of Health Dr. Kenneth Olden, Ph.D., has served as Director of the
National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) and Director of the
National Toxicology Program (NTP) for the past 10 years. Dr. Olden is a cell
biologist and biochemist and has been active in research into the properties of
cell surface molecules and their possible roles in cancer for more than two
decades. He was director of the Howard University Cancer Center and professor
and chairman of the Department of Oncology at Howard University Medical School
before coming to NIEHS. Dr. Olden earned his doctoral degree from Temple
University. The NIEHS/NTP Director has spoken at numerous scientific symposia
and seminars, and has authored more than 130 publications. In 1997, he was
presented an inaugural award for public policy leadership in protecting health
and the environment by the National Association of Physicians for the
Environment.

The event will begin at 7:00 pm with refreshments and an introduction in Room
3-172.
