DMV and Blue/White License Plates
Parking Services would like to share with you some information that might help you if you are experiencing issues with the parking lot gates.The issue of the gates not opening may be the cause of the license plate itself, not the license number/letters.
If your vehicle has the blue and white license plates, the reflective material in the paint is malfunctioning. The License Plate Recognition cameras need the reflective material in order to read plates.
If your plate is causing an issue, you may want to look into replacing them with DMV. DMV has a recall on these plates. Depending on the condition of your plates, they may qualify for new plates issued at no cost to you.
