Life After Loss: Dealing with Grief Lecture

Tomorrow (Wednesday, April 5) the LeRoy V. Good Library will be hosting the lecture “Life after Loss: Dealing with Grief.” The lecturer, Rev. Jim Mulcahy, Chaplain for Visiting Nurse Hospice and Palliative Care for the Visiting Nurse Service of Rochester and Monroe County, will be speaking on the grief process.

Rev. Mulcahy, born in Boston and raised as a Roman Catholic, entered the Jesuit Order in 1961 and obtained his undergraduate degree at Boston College. He served as a missionary in Iraq and Egypt before resigning from the order, then returned to Egypt as a Presbyterian employee. He studied graduate theology at Weston Jesuit School of Theology. He has taught school, been personnel director for a Catholic diocese, and served as a non-denominational hospital chaplain. He is currently not only Chaplain for Visiting Nurse Hospice and Palliative Care for the Visiting Nurse Service of Rochester and Monroe County but pastor of Open Arms Metropolitan Community Church as well.

The lecture will be held during College Hour, 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, on the 4th floor of the Library, outside room 2-440. Please join us for what promises to be an interesting and informative event.
