SMART CLASSROOMS: HOW TO USE CLASSROOM TECHNOLOGY
As technological applications for instruction increase, so does the need for learning environments to include more advanced technology equipment. This session is designed to enable instructors to gain confidence in the operation of equipment that is installed in MCC's classrooms and lecture halls. Learn how to:

*Operate the controls that run the equipment in the smart classrooms
*Access the M drive or use Zip disks or CDs in class
*Switch between the PC and the VCR
*Plug in your laptop to the system so it projects
*Control the audio levels in the room
*Use a closed captioned video in your class
*Plug in and use your own camcorder or other device.

Facilitated by Paul Tracy, ETS Instructional Technologies.

SMART CONSOLE SETUP AND USAGE
Many of the classrooms at MCC have been converted to Smart Classrooms - however, some have not, and a Smart Console (consisting of a computer, data projector, VHS/DVD player, and speakers) has been placed in select rooms. This placement of Smart Consoles may change from semester to semester based on surveyed needs of the technology. If you know you will have a Smart Console in your classroom for the semester and want to learn how to operate it, attend this Brown Bag session. Facilitated by Paul Tracy, ETS Instructional Technologies.

WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 1
PIXIEPRO CONTROL SYSTEM
NOTE: This session takes place in ROOM 11-105
Are you teaching in one of the general classrooms in building 12 or perhaps room 11-105? If so, you’ll want to attend this Brown Bag session. You will learn about the new PixiePro system installed in these rooms and how to use them to your advantage while teaching.  With PixiePro there is one location for all of your controls in the room. Funded by a Strategic Planning Initiative, these units provide a common user interface panel in your classroom. No more learning multiple room configurations. If you know you will in one of these classrooms for the semester and want to learn how to operate the PixiePro, attend this Brown Bag session. Facilitated by Paul Tracy, ETS Instructional Technologies. (To view an image of the control panel click on https://www.spcontrols.com/images/site_graphics/PixiePro_intro_1.gif)
