This year, MCC is taking an extraordinary leadership position around the country in granting institutional recognition of National Child Abuse Awareness Month, National Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and Violence Awareness Week.
There will be seven events spread across campus during the month of April supported by a variety of groups-- including the Peer Mentors, the Student Organization of Women Leaders (S.O.W.L.), the English/Philosophy Department, Transitional Studies, the A/H/P/S Department, the Creative Arts Committee, The Sixth Act, Student Services, Health Services, the Campus Center, and the AAWCC. Now, we're asking you and your department, committee, office, or student organization to join us in your recognition of this important effort. We will be printing large posters uniting the different events and we'd like to display these posters around campus as a symbol of our unified front against violence. If you're interested, we'd like to deliver a set of posters to you with your department, committee, office, or student organization printed boldly across the top. Help us show our community that MCC will not tolerate violence, that we will open ourselves to victims of violence, and that we will work together towards a stronger, healthier, more empowered world.
