MCC Upward Bound Students Excel in MCC Courses

Students from Rochester Early College International High School (RECIHS) have been given the opportunity to take MCC courses due to the unique nature of the school’s curriculum. RECIHS) is designed to provide students an accelerated path to success in college through an accelerated class schedule and curriculum. Scholars at RECIHS are able to take college courses at the high school and on the MCC campus for college credit. A bonus to this program is that students have the opportunity to prepare and experience college courses at no cost to them or their families.

Each semester approximately 50% of the students who are eligible to take the classes are Upward Bound participants. The majority of them are able to maintain a GPA of 3.0 or better in these rigorous courses. Some of the classes that our students enrolled in are Intro to Human Anatomy, Intro to Sociology, Intro to Private Security/Loss Prevention, and many more. We are so proud of our students and excited that these students are getting the preparation, inspiration, and support they need to attend and graduate from college.
