Contact Eileen Scorgie via email or at Ext. 3019 to participate.

Higher education leaders at institutions across the country are striving to meet the needs of a changing student population in the face of shrinking budgets and increased competition. It is clear that American higher education must implement cutting-edge strategies to enhance productivity, with the end goals being to expand capacity, improve teaching and learning, and better serve a diverse 21st century student population.

In early 2011, as part of the American Council on Education’s (ACE) Making Productivity Real initiative supported by Lumina Foundation for Education, ACE collaborated with authors Clayton Christensen and Henry Eyring to publish a white paper addressing these issues. Due in part to the extremely positive reviews received, ACE is pleased to host a webinar on Sept. 22 featuring these authors and Dr. Kim Clark, President of Brigham Young University – Idaho. Together, they will examine ideas put forth in a recent book,
The Innovative University: Changing the DNA of Higher Education from the Inside Out.

Featured guests include:

• Clayton Christensen – Professor of Business Administration at the Harvard Business School and co-author,
The Innovative University: Changing the DNA of Higher Education from the Inside Out

• Henry Eyring – Vice President of Advancement at BYU-Idaho and co-author,
The Innovative University: Changing the DNA of Higher Education from the Inside Out

• Kim Clark – President, Brigham Young University-Idaho and former dean of the Harvard Business School

• Diana Cordova (moderator) – Co-Principal Investigator of the Making Productivity Real Initiative and Director of the Center for Advancement of Racial and Ethnic Equity at the American Council on Education

Featured guests will briefly discuss the book and its implications for the future of higher education in the United States before engaging in conversation with Dr. Cordova. Panelists will answer questions from attendees throughout the webinar.

ACE President Molly Corbett Broad will provide welcoming.

Attendees can also submit questions for the speakers in advance of the webinar. Please email your questions to Elizabeth O'Herrin at
