Jessica Wilkie to Serve as MCC Schools Implementation Leader

As we move towards full-scale implementation of the Schools at MCC this fall, I am pleased to announce that Jessica Wilkie, assistant professor of English/Philosophy, has agreed to take on the role of Schools Implementation Leader starting in August.  Jessica has been an active member of numerous committees and work groups in the development Pathways/Academies/Schools model, including serving as a Faculty Liaison for the Damon City Campus.

During the upcoming academic year, Jessica will be the college-wide functional lead for implementing MCC Schools, streamlining communication with the various constituencies, and troubleshooting issues as they arise.  In her new role, Jessica will report to Kimberley Collins, assistant vice president, Academic Services.

Dr. Karen McCarthy will continue to work with the pathways model, but our intention is that she will shift her specific focus to optimizing the processes related to Starfish and to developing practices that engage directly with students and improve student retention.  Karen will continue to report to the Provost, but she will work in close collaboration with Student Services.

Please join me in thanking both Jessica and Karen for their willingness to assist us in this important initiative.
