GM Fuel Cell Car to visit STEP Saturday College

On Saturday, October 18, the Science & Technology Entry Program (STEP) will be having a special guest visit to the Damon Campus, a GM Fuel Cell Car!

The car was developed here in Monroe County by GM’s team of engineers and scientists. The car runs on hydrogen fuel and produces only water as exhaust. STEP students will have the opportunity to see the car, ask GM employees questions, and learn about careers in engineering and research and development.

This event is part of STEP Saturday College, an ongoing enrichment program for 7th-12th grade students.  On two Saturday mornings each month, STEP students gather for hands-on experiences with science, technology, math, and medicine (STEM) as well as for tutoring and additional support.  New York State STEP aims to get students from underrepresented groups to pursue college and careers in the STEM fields.

For more information on STEP or the visit from the GM fuel cell car, please contact Donna Augustine at 262-1673.
