Removing Dead Ash Trees Project

The Facilities Department is starting a project to remove dead trees near the edge of the college road around the back of campus. These are Ash trees that were killed by the emerald ash borer (EAB) (Agrilus planipennis). This insect is an invasive species which came into New York State in 2009. The insect infests and kills all native species of Ash trees. The trees are being removed for safety along our roadway. Our Grounds crew will put up road signage showing where work is being performed, and use flag people along the road when needed. Please use caution when driving along areas where work is being performed.

Thank You,

Greg Nickason,

Supervisor of Campus Grounds
