EIT Accessibility Training Available Online Now

SUNY has entered into an agreement with DeQue Systems to provide accessibility training across all SUNY campuses, including Monroe Community College. DeQue University is an online digital accessibility training platform that provides comprehensive training on a wide variety of topics, including web accessibility, document accessibility, accessibility testing, and more. Members of the College community may take as many courses as they choose through this online platform. The courses available are self-paced and take between 30 minutes to 6 hours to complete, depending on the topic and the depth of coverage. Courses are designed for a wide range of technical skills from easy to advanced. The introduction page for each course provides information on the primary intended audience, technical level, suggested prerequisites, and length of the course.

There are no restrictions on the number of users for this system and all costs are being covered by SUNY. There is no charge to individual employees or departments for this training. All employees are encouraged to sign onto DeQue University to explore the available training options and to take as many courses as they want. Participation in this training will assist the College in achieving its goal of creating and maintaining an accessible and inclusive learning and working environment.

All Monroe Community College faculty and staff will be granted access to this training platform. IT has submitted a list of names and email addresses for this purpose. You will receive an email from DeQue University asking you to set up an account - this is not a spam email. You will need to follow the steps in that email to establish an account and gain access to all that DeQue has to offer.
