Patricia Sarantis, Assistant Professor in Nursing, was presented the "Teacher of the Year Award" at the NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) Rochester 25th Anniversary Dinner on Monday, April 23, 2007. This award recognizes the recipient for "outstanding service and contribution to the needs of persons with mental illness and their families". Patty has been on the faculty of the Department of Nursing since 1989. She has a Master of Science Degree in Psychiatric Nursing from the University of Rochester and has taught in the Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing course throughout her tenure at MCC.
