Happy Saint Andrew's Day!

The Celtic Society wishes everyone a Happy St. Andrew's Day!

St. Andrew, the Patron Saint of Scotland, Cyprus, Barbados, Greece, Romania, Russia, and Ukraine, was one of Jesus's Apostles and the brother of St. Peter. St. Andrew's Day is seen as the first of the Scottish winter holidays, followed by Hogmanay (December 31-January 1 (or 2)) and Robert Burns' Night (around January 25). Scottish culture is celebrated at this time, with food and drink, and wearing one's family's colors.

The Celtic Society meets on Wednesdays from noon to 1 pm in room 12-109, and is open to all students, faculty, and staff.
