The Brighton Campus Student Government Association, the Damon Campus Student Events and Governance Association, and the Campus Activities Board invite you to join them as they remember the victims of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

The ceremony will begin at 8:00 a.m. this Saturday, September 11, 2010 at the September 11 Remembrance Walk, located at the east entrance of the PAC Center (Building 10).  A keynote address will be given by John Perrone, director of MCC’s Homeland Security Management Institute.  MCC President Anne M. Kress; the Honorable Maggie Brooks, Monroe County Executive; the Honorable Sandra Frankel, Brighton Town Supervisor; MCC student Jack Hills; and local architect and monument designer Mark Maddalina will also deliver remarks.  During the ceremony, floral wreaths will be presented by County Executive Brooks on behalf of the firefighters and by MCC students; all attendees will be placing white carnations at the base of the monument.  At 8:45 a.m. there will be a moment of silence.

Firefighters from the Monroe County Fire Bureau will attend the ceremony and immediately after will hold a commemoration of their own in the MCC Theatre (Building 4).  A bagpiper will lead the procession to the theatre.

Everyone is invited to attend.
