New Downtown Campus

Good progress is being made on the design of our new downtown campus.

Last week, LaBella Associates presented an overview of the current design to the MCC Board of Trustees.  From here, our next major step is to obtain estimates based on this design. Those estimates will inform our work in finalizing the design and preparing the necessary documents for an April 2015 request for construction bids.

Yesterday, at the Rochester Downtown Development Corporation’s annual “Vision:Future” luncheon, County Executive Brooks included in her remarks an update on our downtown campus development, including a “fly-through” animation that conveys the openness, energy and general layout of the first three floors of the campus. I invite you to
take a look.

Today, our partners at LaBella are sharing décor schemes for the new campus in the DCC Community Room 4-193 at noon.  Feedback from employees and students is welcomed. In addition to the noon presentation, the décor schemes will be on display from December 11 (after 2:00 pm) through December 15 in the DCC Board Room, 5-057.

My thanks go to the Downtown Campus Project Team, our partners at Monroe County, LaBella Associates and DiMarco Constructors, and our college community for their  commitment to delivering a transformative campus that meets our students’ and community’s needs and doing so within budget.
