Appointment of Angel Andreu

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Angel Andreu as Director of Institutional Research effective July 18, 2005.

Angel has taught mathematics and statistics at MCC for fourteen years and since September 2002, he has been working as Assistant Director of Institutional Research. During that time he was also active in many other capacities: he currently serves as Grievance Chair of the Faculty Association and is a member of the Middle States Steering Committee. Previously, he was Treasurer of the Faculty Association, Coordinator of the Writing Across the Curriculum Program and acted as Computer Room Coordinator for the Mathematics Department. While teaching, Angel has demonstrated effective leadership through service to his department and the College.

Over the years he honed his research skills by taking on research responsibilities such as: 2004 Faculty/Staff Survey, wrote a major evaluation of SLN students retention/attrition as it relates to students’ registration in SLN courses, and an analysis of math Accuplacer scores that resulted in a new tier placement.

Angel received a M.S. in Mathematics from the University of Arkansas, a B.S. in Mathematics from Florida International University and an A.A. in Liberal Arts from Miami-Dade Community College.
