MCC Toastmasters Place at Area Contest

Congratulations to MCC alumnus Rich Nestlen who won first prize at the Toastmasters Area 23 International Speech Contest in Rochester on February 25. Rich’s winning speech, “The Story of Sim,” is a parable that teaches people about the value of listening to and honoring other people’s stories and perspectives. The contest challenges contestants to develop and deliver an original motivational speech. Rich will represent both the MCC Toastmasters Club and Area 23 at the April 9 division contest at SUNY Geneseo.

Rosanna Yule (Marketing and Community Relations) placed second in the Table Topics contest. Table topics are designed to improve a person’s impromptu-speaking skills.
