Fall Foreign Film Fest Starts October 25


The ESOL & Foreign Languages Department and the Global Union International Students Association invites the college community to this year's Fall Foreign Film Fest starting on October 25.

Tuesday, October 25 at the Damon City Campus, Room 4013
"Nueba Yol 3" Comedy in Spanish, 1997, about a Dominican immigrant living in New York City.
Introduced by Jorge Alas.

"Dear Frankie" Drama in English and British Sign Language, 2004, a tender story about a deaf nine-year boy living in a seaside Scottish town.
Introduced by Rita Straubhaar.

Thursday, October 27, 6:30 p.m. at the Warshof Conference Center, Flynn Campus Center (Monroe B), Brighton
"Facing Windows" Drama/Romance in Italian, 2003, set in Rome.
Introduced by Teresa Murano. 

"In July" Comedy/Romance in German, 2000, about a German young man who travels from Hamburg to Istanbul in search of the woman of his dreams. Introduced by John Ganze.

Thursday, November 3, 6:30 p.m. at the Warshof Conference Center, Flynn Campus Center (Monroe B)
"The Spanish Apartment" Comedy in French, 2002, about a French student that moves into an apartment in Barcelona with other six students from all over Europe. Introduced by Charlotte Marcy.

"Walk on Water" Drama in Hebrew, German and English, 2004, a touching film about an Israeli secret service agent and the grandchildren of a Nazi war criminal. Introduced by Yona Koter.

Thursday,  November 10, 6:30 p.m. at the Warshof Conference Center, Flynn Campus Center (Monroe B)
"Whisky" Drama in Spanish, 2004, set in Montevideo, Uruguay. This film has not been screened in the U.S. An exclusive!

Arrive at 6:00 p.m. to mingle and enjoy some ethnic nibbles and food sampling. The films will be introduced at 6:30 p.m. Two films will be shown concurrently on each of the specified dates. All films have English subtitles. The Foreign Film Fest is free and open to the public.
