Professor Emerita Eileen T. Morton-Cubitt, Office Technology

The MCC family mourns the loss of Professor Emerita Eileen T. Morton-Cubitt (Office Technology), who died peacefully after a long illness on April 20, 2022 at the age of 93.

Professor Emerita Morton-Cubitt joined MCC in 1963 as an instructor in the Secretarial Science Department and contributed to the early success of MCC. She served as department chair during the 1970s and contributed to the success of the College for 25 years before retiring in 1988. She is known for supporting the success of CSEA colleagues and for representing MCC in the community, especially buildling bridges with local school districts. She was an active member in SUNY's Community College Secretarial Educators organization.

According to her obituary, "To her death, she remained very proud of MCC, and its impact on students all around the greater Rochester area."

She is survived by her children, Colleen (Morton) Anderson and Kevin (Norma) Morton; her sister Suzanne (Thaney) Holland; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. 

Friends may call Wednesday, April 27 from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral chapel (2305 Monroe Avenue, Rochester). A celebration of life will be held at St. Louis Church in Pittsford on Thursday, April 28, 9:30 a.m., followed by interment at White Haven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Professor Emerita Morton-Cubitt's memory to the Alzheimer's Association of Rochester and the Finger Lakes, 435 E. Henrietta Road, Rochester, NY 14620, St. Ann's Foundation, 1500 Portland Avenue, Rochester, NY 14621, or the MCC Foundation, 1000 East Henrietta Road, Rochester, NY 14623.
