Rochester Without George Eastman: Developing a Community Legacy


The LeRoy V. Good Library (Brighton Campus) is pleased to announce that it will be hosting a lecture Wednesday, March 17, 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. Kathy Connor, Curator of the George Eastman House, will be speaking on “Rochester Without George Eastman: Developing a Community Legacy.” The lecture will be located on the 4th floor of the library, outside of room 2-452.

Kathy is responsible for the care and maintenance of George Eastman’s mansion and the George Eastman Legacy Collection, which includes over 160,000 artifacts. She received her B.A. from St. John Fisher College and her M.A. from Columbia University and graduated from the University of Delaware collections care program. Kathy has been at the George Eastman House since 1982, beginning in the Museum's Education Department. In 1999 she opened an archive and study center for the George Eastman collection at the George Eastman House which assists over 1,000 researchers annually. Kathy regularly hosts college student interns from the US and Canada and is also an adjunct faculty member at St. John Fisher College, where she teaches courses in Introduction to Museum Studies  and Historic Site Administration in the Museum Studies certificate program.
