Bylaw Revision Vote Coming up

The Nominations, Elections, and Governance (NEG) Committee of the Faculty Senate has proposed changes to Article IV MEMBERSHIP of the Faculty Senate bylaws (see attached document). To this end NEG hosted two open forums on May 1 and 8, 2019 at the Downtown and Brighton campuses respectively, and reviewed its proposal at the May 9, 2019 Faculty Senate meeting. Also at the May 9 meeting, the Faculty Senate voted to send the proposed changes to the Faculty for approval.

Voting on the proposed bylaw revisions to Article IV is expected to commence on Monday, May 13, 2019. Eligible voters will receive electronic ballots from Institutional Research (IR) via email, and will have 10 working days to cast their votes. Balloting will close at noon on Friday May 24, 2019. As any proposed changes to the Bylaws requires 2/3 approval of those voting, we seek strong engagement from the faculty on this matter.

Questions about any of the appended document, or on the process followed that generated the proposal, can be directed to Eraj Basnayake, NEG chair (ebasnayake@monroecc.edu).

NOTE: Please vote early. Any voters who do not receive an electronic ballot should search their SPAM and Junk folders for a voting notice. Alternatively, inquiries may be directed to the College's HELP desk.
