Transition from Military Culture to Civilian/Academic Culture: STARS workshop
This session was designed for teaching faculty to address what happens when a soldier separates from military service entirely or leaves overseas deployment and returns home to attend college. Transition challenges such as reuniting with family and friends, adjusting to role changes, the freedom of civilian life, receiving benefits, and challenges that veterans face attending college. These include injuries, loss of military brotherhood, and interacting with younger peers.
