Army Sergeant Jason Santora died on Friday, April 23, 2010 in Afghanistan from wounds that he suffered while supporting combat operations in Logar Province. Governor David A. Paterson has directed that flags be flown at half staff on Wednesday, April 28 in honor of the Farmingville native. Santora was assigned to the 3rd Battalion of the 75th Ranger Regiment, based at Fort Benning, Georgia.
