MCC Students Receive Summer Internships

MCC students Szilamer Bogdan (Computer Information Systems), Adam Knight (Information Technology), John Messersmith (Information Technology), Alissa Shields (Information Technology), and Thaddeus Renckert (Liberal Arts) received internships in the Explore Rochester IT Rotational Exposure Program.  Only 14 students were selected from over 40 applicants from colleges and universities across the region.  MCC had the largest number of students granted internships.

The Rotational Exposure Program is an initiative offered by Rochester area employers, providing college students a close-up view of the inner workings of multiple IT departments.  The program is open to 1st and 2nd year students from area colleges. Students spend time working in the IT operations areas of three different area employers, including: Bausch & Lomb, Computer Associates, Inc., Excellus BlueCross BlueShield, Paychex, Kodak, Energy East-Utility Shared Services Corp., Frontier/Citizens, Univ. of Rochester, URMC, and Rochester Institute of Technology.

The program offers a tremendous learning opportunity and students are paid for it as well!  Several program members have even continued working with a participating employer after completing their assignments. More information about the program can be found at www.ExploreRochesterIT.com

Congratulations to our students!
