The Model United Nations Program is back in action

Students, faculty and friends, Model United Nations Award Winning Program is back for another year. This is the 17th year of our program, in which we are proud to say has made Monroe Community College a big contender among many of the Ivy League colleges in the United States.

Model United Nations is an authentic simulation of the UN General Assembly, UN Security Council, or other multilateral body, which catapults students into the world of diplomacy and negotiation. In Model UN, students step into the shoes of ambassadors of UN member states. We may be any country from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe to debate current issues on the Organization's vast agenda.

STUDENTS YOU BENEFIT WITH THE FOLLOWING:

  • You receive 4 credit hours in this course
  • You receive honors credit (however, you do not have to be an honors student to be in the program).
  • Students will work and interact with 5,000 other students for one week.
  • The class starts in the spring semester; however, applications and interviews to be in the program are starting now.

Students; if you are curious and want to know more about the program, or if you would like to get an application you can pick one up in the PRISM Multicultural Center (1-108) or The Office of Student Life and Leadership Development (3-126).
