Dr. Kim McKinsey-Mabry and Jean McCrumb present at the State of the Art Conference on Postsecondary Education

Dr. Kim McKinsey-Mabry, Dean, Business & Community Engagement and Jean McCrumb, Program Coordinator presented to a standing-room-only crowd at the State of the Art Conference sponsored by Think College at Syracuse University on October 11. The presentation, "Academic and Career Pathway Development" discussed the development of the MCC credential and the academic and career pathway design for program students.

Formerly known as TPSID--Transition and Postsecondary Programs for Students with Intellectual Disabilities, the purpose of the academic and career pathway program is to empower participants by providing an inclusive college experience that includes academic enrichment, socialization, and the acquisition of independent and career development skills. Students who successfully complete the program receive a MCC Certificate of Completion/Achievement Award.

Think College is a national organization dedicated to developing, expanding, and improving research and practice in inclusive higher education for students with intellectual disabilities. The popular national conference welcomed over 400 attendees from as far away as New Zealand.
