MCC Daily Tribune

Register by this Friday, April 9, to attend a regional virtual teaching conference

Registration for the April 16 Connecting, Collaborating, and Celebrating the Art of Teaching Conference ends at 11:59 PM tomorrow, April 9.

MCC is included this year in the cohort of upstate SUNY community colleges sponsoring the conference. This means as many MCC faculty and staff who wish to attend can do so--and it doesn't even require getting prior approval, driving anywhere at an ungodly hour, or submitting post-conference paperwork!

The keynote speaker will be David Gooblar, author of the Pedagogy Unbound column in the Chronicle of Higher Education and the recent book The Missing Course: Everything They Never Taught You About College Teaching. He is also the Associate Director of the Center for Advancement of Teaching at Temple University and a writing, rhetoric, and literature professor at the University of Iowa.

The CCCAT conference is focused on the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL), ensuring that the voices of community college faculty and staff are front and center in SoTL work.

In addition to the keynote and workshop led by Gooblar, sessions on inclusive syllabi, culturally-responsive teaching, equity, anti-racist writing assignments, global perspectives, and more, match our College-wide focus this year on Committing to Equity-Minded Pedagogy, and offer an opportunity to connect with colleagues doing similar work at other SUNY community colleges.

Hope to see you as part of MCC's contingent! Register by 11:59 PM tomorrow, April 9.
