Who are those people in the lime colored vests? If you haven't seen them yet you will!

We are fortunate to have a group of well trained MCC CERT volunteers deployed at our campus for emergency evacuations and incidents.  CERT is an acronym for Community Emergency Response Team.  They have been trained at our Public Safety Training Facility on Scottsville Rd and equipped to respond and assist with emergency situations at our Brighton and Damon Campuses. CERT is requested by Public Safety and activated via text pages and our VOIP systems.  Members who are willing and able to respond to assist do so.  They are organized and assignments distributed by their leader Stephen Palmer, senior advisor in our Counseling and Advising Department. Attached is a copy of the newsletter they created.

If you are at our Damon City Campus you will see individuals in orange vests.  They are the evacuation assistants and although they are not CERT volunteers they serve the same purpose and deserve your utmost attention.

In the event of an emergency situation where these individuals have been deployed, please remember to follow directions and instructions provided. We appreciate the dedication and willingness to serve the college community.
