Join Us! Faculty Workshop: Students with Disabilities in the Classroom

Now that the semester is fully underway the Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD) office would like to welcome faculty to join the SSD staff for a collaborative discussion on Friday, October 11th from 11:30am-1:00pm in the Flynn Campus Center, Room 3–119. We hope to cover some frequently asked questions; such as, how do I know if a student is registered with the Disabilities office? What is my responsibility if a student provides me with an Accommodation Letter from the Services for Students with Disabilities office but chooses not to use any accommodations in my class? What if a student doesn’t ask to use an accommodation until after failing several assignments or exams?  I am concerned about my student’s behaviors in the classroom; could this be related to his/her disability?  If you are uncertain about any of these questions or have questions of your own please feel free to stop by 3-119 at your convenience for support.  We hope to see you Friday!
