February Financial Aid Online Application Workshops


If you know a student who needs assistance applying for financial aid, then encourage them to attend a
Financial Aid Online Application Workshop, hosted by the Financial Aid Office. The following workshops will be hosted at the Applied Technologies Center, Brighton Campus and Damon City Campus during February:

There will be additional workshops next month.

Advise your students toArrive promptly to complete the application in the time allotted and to bring the following documentation to the workshop:

* 2006 Federal Tax Return and their parents’ 2006 Federal Tax Return and date of birth unless the student was born before January 1, 1984, or they are married or have a child that receives child support.


* 2006 New York State Tax Return and their parents’ 2006 New York State Tax Return if the student is under 22 years of age.

Students will need to know the total amount of untaxed income received in 2006. If they, their spouse, or their parents (if applicable) received any untaxed income during 2006, such as public assistance, social security, or child support the student needs to report it in the financial aid application.

Student may apply for a PIN (Federal Personal Identification Number) at https://www.pin.ed.gov.

Have an e-mail address to receive information about their application in few days after we process it.

Learn more about the Financial Aid process at https://www.monroecc.edu/depts/finaid.

Print the FAFSA on the WEB worksheet at https://www.fafsa.ed.gov to gather all the information needed to complete the online application.

In the Financial Aid Lab, studnets can file the TAP application, complete the loan counseling, and sign the master promissory note.
