Join us for our 30th Annual Kristallnacht Remembrance event: Dr. Steven Luckert

On November 9, 1938, state-sanctioned violence broke out across Germany and its occupied territories. With support from Nazi officials, violent mobs burned down synagogues, broke into and ransacked Jewish-owned businesses, homes, and schools, and murdered 91 Jews. Far from intervening to stop the rioters, police arrested 30,000 Jewish men, who were sent to concentration camps. Afterwards, the Nazi government forced the Jews to pay roughly one billion reichsmarks to pay for the damage.

This state-sanctioned violence came to be knnown as Kristallnacht, the night of broken glass. It was a dark turning point for the Third Reich, paving the way to the Final Solution.

Please join us on November 10 at 7 pm for our 30th annual commemoration of Kristallnacht. Our guest speaker is Dr. Steven Luckert, the Senior Program Curator in the Levine Institute for Holocaust Education at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. Dr. Luckert's presentation is called Propaganda: Past and Present

Please register in advance via the link in the flyer.
