Passing of Professor Emerita Ana M. Rodriguez

I am sad to inform the College community about the recent death of Professor Emerita M. Rodriguez. A native of Cuba, Professor Rodriguez began her MCC teaching career in 1968 and retired 33 years later in 2001. Recognized by her colleagues as a woman of great intellect and integrity, she was also an exceptionally effective teacher, a dedicated community volunteer, and an enthusiastic world traveler.

Professor Rodriguez was a member of MCC's Foreign Languages/ESOL Department. In 1971, she was promoted from instructor to assistant professor. Seven years later, she was named an associate professor and in 1986 was promoted to professor. Dedicated to the success of our students, she served on many college-wide committees and was the liaison between MCC and the International Studies Association for several years.
