Admitted Student Day a Success

On Saturday, April 30, 2016, the college hosted Admitted Student Day to a record number of attendees.  378 students and guests, totaling over 925 people,  were greeted by MCC students and staff to the sounds of the MCC Student Jazz Band.  Welcomed by President Kress, students, parents and family members were filled with excitement as students confirmed their plans to attend MCC in fall 2016.  Students were welcomed and introduced to their specific MCC School, and provided an overview of what to expect as they enter college. Workshops included Financial Aid, Transfer/2+2, Student Life and Leadership Development, Honors, EOP, Damon Campus, Disabilities Services, and Learning Styles.  Opportunities to register for classes were offered to those that RSVP’d early.  All students were able to take campus tours, tour the Residence Halls and apply for Housing, receive their MCC Photo ID, RSVP for School Registration Days, register for summer Orientation, shop in the bookstore, and learn more about First Year Experience.  MCC students spent time engaging our new students in the Atrium, with music and entertainment provided by the MCC Radio Station.  Stations were available for students to play games and win prizes as well as taking selfies in front of the MCC “Red Carpet” to share on social media.  The lively and energetic event proved to be a success as early student surveys indicate a positive experience from students and families.

We would like to thank the college community for coming together and supporting our new students, as they select MCC as their college of choice.
