The Celebration of MCC's 50th Year Continues!

 * Before students were identified by social security numbers, and today by M numbers, our earliest students were assigned a number that quite logically started with one. Mr. Anthony Ventura was first in line to register and holds the distinction of being student number one.

* During our 20th anniversary in 1981, MCC graduated its 20,000th student.

* Shortly after opening our doors in September 1962, the first students organized a get- acquainted picnic at Corbett’s Glen in Brighton that came to be known as “Pioneer Picnic.”

* A Monroe Doctrine article dated January 4, 1968, boasted that the new (Brighton) campus would be equipped with a grand total of three computers.

* In recognition of exemplary civic engagement, MCC has been named by the Corporation for National and Community Service to the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll for the past two years in a row.

*Last year, MCC graduates transferred to more than 145 different college and universities nationwide.

*MCC has the 3rd largest student-veteran population in New York state with over 600 veterans.

Many thanks to MCC's LVG Library Archives for their assistance in this project.
