Phase I of Campus Drive Construction Project Completed

Construction of a traffic lane to accommodate public bus service in the rear of the Brighton Campus has been completed. The new traffic lane in front of the R. Thomas Flynn Campus Center is open to buses only; it is off-limits to all other vehicular traffic.

A bus stop sign has been erected in front of the Flynn Campus Center where Route #50 bus service is available. Route #5 bus will continue to provide service in front of the campus center as well as on East Henrietta Road. Starting in September, the Route #5 bus will stop in the rear of the campus only. All other public buses (#12, #24 and #91) will continue to stop on East Henrietta Road until further notice.

PLEASE TELL YOUR STUDENTS ABOUT THESE BUS STOP CHANGES and direct them to www.rgrta.com FOR ROUTE INFORMATION AND THE MOST CURRENT SCHEDULES.

The second phase of the Campus Drive construction project involving the Monroe (Front) Loop is on track for completion by January 2014. Ramp entrances to the Spina Administration Building have been removed and will be replaced with staircases to the second-floor entrance to the building. Monroe Loop will be replaced with a campus green. Please go to www.monroecc.edu/go/TransportationChanges for updates on the construction projects.

The construction activities are part of a year-long Campus Drive project that closes Monroe Loop forever and gives MCC’s front entrance a major makeover. The redesign will improve traffic flow, add green space and create a more inviting entrance to the college.

We apologize for any disruption or inconvenience this project may cause. We have every confidence that upon completion, MCC will be a safer and more inviting campus.

Thank you for your patience.
