MCC Upward Bound Students Selected for Summer Fellowship Opportunity

The American Chemical Society’s Project SEED is an 8-10 week summer fellowship program for high school students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. The program gives students opportunities to work in real chemistry labs and explore different career fields in chemistry. Students who are selected to participate in the program work full-time and receive a $2,500 stipend for their participation. This is the first year that MCC Upward Bound has had students apply to the program.

Two juniors from Rochester Early College have been selected from a highly qualified pool of applicants to participate in the 2016 Project SEED program. Daimonique S. will be working with Dr. Anju Gupta who will be her summer mentor at RIT. Dr. Gupta is an assistant professor at RIT who specializes in the field of chemical engineering. Ahmere S. will be working with Dr. Gabrielle Gaustad at RIT. Dr. Gaustad is an assistant professor at RIT and part of the Golisano Institute for Sustainability’s team.
