Inspire Monroe: Adult Information Dinner Last Week

The MCC Admissions Office partnered with MCC'S Corporate College, the Rochester Educational Opportunity Center (REOC), Monroe County and MCC's Financial Aid Office to offer an adult information dinner at the Downtown Campus on Wednesday, July 11th called Inspire Monroe. An Inspire Monroe event was held in March for high school students, this was a continuation of the series.

Highlights of the event included:

    • A welcome from the Provost/Vice-President of Academic Services, Dr. Andrea Wade, along with Dr. Roosevelt Mareus, Executive Director/Dean of the REOC, and Jeff Adair, Director of Planning and Development from Monroe County
    • Yolonda Steward, Admissions Counselor/Community Liaison for MCC, was our MC for the Welcome and made sure prospective students knew to reach out to her when looking into MCC as an option
    • Panel discussions with local employers and educational experts on Information Technology Careers, Manufacturing Careers and Healthcare Careers
    • An MCC/REOC Application Lab
    • An REOC Information Session
  • Melissa Santiago from the Financial Aid Office presented a Financial Aid Information Session

  • Service providers and company tables including MCC's Corporate College (along with NY Inspire and Perkins), the MCC Admissions Office, the REOC, Monroe County, Lenel, Entre Computer Services, Harris Corp, Ortho Clinical Diagnostics, University of Rochester, MC, Adecco Medical & Science, Monroe Community Hospital, HPOG, Rochester Rehab/SWFI and CDS Life Transitions

The Admissions Office would like to thank all that helped out to make this event successful. Quality conversations were held and prospective students were able to reap the benefits of a vast amount of resources at one event.
