Susan Cable and Elizabeth Clifford, professors with the Law and Criminal Justice Department, presented at the annual Criminal Justice Educators of New York State conference on October 28, 2010. The presentation at the conference was entitled: “I’m Ready for My Close-up or Producing Your Own Video Case Study”.

 For the past two summers the Law and Criminal Justice Department, with the professional help of MCC’s Instructional Technologies Department, has created a DVD of a fictional criminal proceeding to be used as a teaching tool in our classrooms. With the support of the Law and Criminal Justice Advisory Committee members, the department was able to create all the documentation that follows a criminal case from the Investigatory Action Reports from the Rochester City Police to the indictment from the Grand Jury and motions from the Public Defender’s Office and District Attorney’s Office. The DVD has been incorporated into the MCC published study guide for our Criminal Procedure course.
