Sherry Tshibangu selected as Fellow in the SUNY COIL Stevens Initiative

The SUNY COIL Center has accepted Business Professor, Sherry Tshibangu, as a fellow in the SUNY COIL Center Stevens Initiative - Building Bridges with the Middle East/North Africa (MENA).

The Stevens Initiative is a multilateral public-private partnership designed to increase people-to-people exchange between youth in the United States and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) as a lasting tribute to the legacy of U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens. It is funded by the US Department of State, the Bezos Family Foundation, with support from the MacArthur Foundation, Microsoft, and the government of Morocco, the United Arab Emirates, and other sponsors. Check out their website - https://stevensinitiative.org/what-we-do/2016-award-recipients/

Sherry was chosen from a competitive proposal process whereby she partnered with a Lebanese faculty member to jointly propose a COIL module for their two courses. This honor is a testament to her enthusiasm for innovating one of her courses with the high-impact practices global learning and collaborative learning. Sherry will be traveling to Beirut, Lebanon in June for the in-person COIL Academy.

If you are interested in learning more about international travel opportunities through COIL and incorporating this high impact practice into one of your courses, please contact Gale Lynch, Director of Global Education and International Services (glynch6@monroecc.edu).

Or, consider attending Subverting Borders: A Global Education and International Services Professional Development Workshop on WEDNESDAY, MAY 31st. RSVP here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/R3KKM6R
