Downtown Campus Move -- Frequently Asked Questions

I am fortunate to have been involved in the planning and implementation of MCC’s Damon Campus from the beginning, when the College identified the Sibley Building as Damon’s temporary home.  What a thrill to be at the county legislature meeting Tuesday night to hear legislator after legislator praise the work of our faculty and staff, and the impact of our college—and, most importantly, vote unanimously to bond the money necessary for our new downtown campus.

Certainly, this is a time to celebrate, but we are also looking forward to the next steps. You may find the attached Frequently Asked Questions document to be helpful in clarifying where we are and where we need to go. Please feel free to share it with friends and colleagues.

The legislature’s vote attracted a lot of media attention: 13 WHAM TV, YNN, Democrat and Chronicle, City newspaper, WXXI radio and others. Many thanks to my colleagues in College and Community Relations who facilitated communications before and after the vote, and spread the news on social media. A collection of news clips is attached.
