13WHAM Talks About MCC Student Recruitment Efforts

Christine Casalinuovo-Adams, associate vice president of Enrollment Management, was interviewed about MCC student enrollment and latest recruitment efforts for a 13WHAM News segment that aired April 5.

Key takeaways from the interview:

-- High school graduates of 2020 and students who were planning to attend MCC in fall 2020 "didn’t enroll anywhere because of the circumstances they were in."

-- MCC's increased recruitment efforts include virtual open houses scheduled throughout the month. In addition, students who applied and were admitted for the fall 2020 semester will already be accepted for this coming fall. Fall registration begins April 26.

-- "We’re going to see students focused on more essential jobs. They want to know where are the jobs that are almost recession-proof."

-- Students say they want to be back on campus. "They have a lot of school pride. Our students love Monroe. And just as they love us, we love them."
