Brenda Babitz Marks New Beginning

After 18 years, Brenda Babitz has decided to step down from her role as president of the Monroe Community College Foundation to pursue new challenges. This marks her last week at the college.

Brenda successfully re-launched MCC’s fundraising program to become one of the most innovative and highly respected college advancement programs in the state and nation. She did so by building a talented staff, creating strong relationships with the college family and recruiting exceptional community and business leaders to serve on the MCC Foundation Board of Directors.

Under her leadership, the MCC Foundation has raised more than $50 million in private sector support to help MCC remain competitive and responsive to the growing needs of our students and community. Philanthropy makes it possible for MCC to expand its academic and campus life facilities, reward and fund teaching innovation and academic excellence and, most importantly, provide scholarships students need to pursue a quality education at MCC. Her very important work made dreams come true for many Rochesterians and our college stronger.

The MCC Foundation Board of Directors will honor Brenda’s achievement with the foundation’s first-ever lifetime achievement award at the Salute to Excellence dinner on Dec. 10.

I hope you will join me in thanking Brenda for the exceptional work she has done to create a culture of philanthropy at MCC and wishing her much success in the future.
