ETS Software Updates

ETS is upgrading the PaperCut system (the software used to manage printing at MCC) this week as part of the college’s print management strategy.  Once the upgrade is complete, starting Monday, April 25th, faculty/staff users will receive an automatic scheduled update to MCC software – PaperCut Print Provider.

When the update begins, users will see a balloon-style pop-up notification in their System Tray (by the clock) indicating that a piece of required software is scheduled to run in 5 minutes.  If the balloon is clicked, the user will be presented with a brief bit of verbiage indicating that ETS is installing the PaperCut update on their computer and to contact the Call Center with questions.  There will be a button to run the installation now; otherwise, after the 5 minute countdown is complete, the software will install automatically.

The installation of each update takes only a few seconds and will run in the background with no interruption to the user.  No reboot is required afterwards, so the impact will be minimal.
