13WHAM: "Where local colleges stand on COVID requirements for spring"

Yesterday, 13WHAM reporter Natalie Kucko interviewed MCC Acting Vice President of Student Services Dr. Kim McKinsey-Mabry for the story “Where local colleges stand on COVID requirements for spring.”

The coverage noted how, while COVID-19 boosters are encouraged, they are not required by SUNY and MCC at this time (subject to change pending a state or federal mandate). It also helped reinforce how students who plan to engage in person at MCC next spring are required to verify vaccination or receive a medical or religious exemption by Jan. 14, 2022.*

Our thanks to Dr. McKinsey-Mabry for representing MCC and emphasizing how our college is proactively planning to respond should state or local requirements change (e.g., regarding boosters).

Please check MCC's Coronavirus Updates & Resources web pages for the latest information.

* Students who verified vaccination or who received a medical or religious exemption during the fall 2021 semester will not have to re-verify their status prior to taking in-person classes during intersession or the spring 2022 semester.
