Two Express Enrollment Days Planned for June

Express Enrollment Days is a college-wide initiative to raise awareness among accepted students about the many steps involved in MCC’s enrollment process and to encourage students to complete their enrollment and registration prior to the summer months. This initiative is led by the Provost, and supported by Academic Services, Administrative Services, Economic Development and Innovative Workforce Services, Educational Technology Services, Student Services, the President’s Office, and the Faculty Association.  These one-day events planned for Wednesday June 19 from 8:30 am-3 pm and Tuesday, June 25 from 11:30 am-6 pm are designed to be a college-wide activity that engages as many members of the college community as possible.

Volunteers are needed for this exciting initiative. To volunteer as a faculty advisor, please contact your division dean. To volunteer for all other support roles, please contact Mike Bates at
mbates@monroecc.edu or ext. 2295 to find out more and sign-up.

The GOALS of the initiative include:
  • Creating access and a sense of an open, welcoming campus for students and their families.
  • Increasing student awareness of and preparation for enrollment steps that occur prior to registration such as placement testing, financial aid processing, and academic advising and assisting students in completing all or as many of these steps as possible by June 30th.
  • Providing an opportunity for academic program faculty to advise students in their majors, promote their programs, and potentially recruit new students.
  • Raising both internal and external community awareness of enrollment processes and college deadlines.
  • Increasing the yield of registered students by June 30, and encouraging registration prior to July and August.
  • Increasing collaboration and coordination while providing all necessary support for students in a “seamless” one-stop fashion.
  • Creating an exciting, celebratory experience for students and the college community while addressing students’ needs for comprehensive services.
