During the Spring semester, Department of Education assistant professors Lena Shiao and Tracy Wyant presented at the national conference of the National Association of Community College Teacher Education Programs (NACCTEP) on “Successful Service Learning Projects for Future K-12 Teacher and Early Childhood Professionals.” Their lively and well-attended presentation shared successful service learning projects that engage teacher education students with program objectives, including collaborations with K-12 schools, daycare centers, and after school programs. The engaging projects included family fun packs, literacy kits, writing children's books, performances, tutoring, fieldwork, and more.
