Saturday's MCC Fall Open House

MCC’s college-wide Open House was held on Saturday, October 15, 2016 with a crowd of 623 visitors.  Prospective students came from across New York state, totaling 288 students.  Thank you to everyone involved in making a successful Fall Open House!

The event kicked off with over 200 guests participating in Early Bird Tours. An inspiring welcome was delivered by President Kress, in the Monagan Court located in the Samuel J. Stabins Physical Education Complex; the gym was decorated in black and gold for the event. Renderings of the new Downtown Campus were prominently displayed.  Guests participated in School Specialty Tours and Meet and Greets with Faculty and received information at one of our many Student and Academic Service Information Tables. Presentations were offered on topics such as Academic Support Services:  College-Wide Tutorials (They’re Free!); Admissions; Financial Aid Steps to Help Pay for Your College Degree; Honors Institute; MCC Libraries, Key Resources & Services; Math:  Added Today, Applied Tomorrow; Study Abroad & On-Location Courses; The Homeland Security Management Institute; Transferring to a Four-Year College; and the Undeclared Option.

Students were able to ask Admissions and Financial Aid questions, as well as submit applications.  Music was supplied by 98PXY as they broadcasted live from the event.  Peer Navigators provided students with a variety of games and giveaways, and our school mascot paid a visit.  Campus tours were provided, including the Residence Halls.
