County Executive Jack Doyle and Mayor William Johnson, Jr. recently appointed Dr. Dustin Swanger, Associate VP for Workforce Development and Dean, Technical Education, to the Workforce Investment Board in accordance with the Workforce Investment Act of 1998. Dr. Swanger will be serving out the previous term of President Thomas R. Flynn.
The local Workforce Investment Board (WIB) is charged with the governance and oversight of the Workforce Investment System for all of Monroe County. The Board will guide the investment of approximately $16 million in public resources designed to place and increase the skills of job seekers in Monroe County.
