The Grade Rosters Are Here! The Grade Rosters Are Here!

The Grade Rosters Are Here! The Grade Rosters Are Here!

The excitement in R&R is palatable as the teetering tower of grade rosters rolls into the office. Will they be in alignment? (Most are but some aren’t). What will the cycle numbers be? (87, 89, 91) Did they all print or are some missing (They are all here!) Will we ever have to distribute and collect them again? (NO!!! It’s the welcome end of an era).

The grade rosters will be mailed to the department secretaries on May 10 and 11. Please check with your department on the where abouts of your roster because once they leave R&R we say good riddance.

Remember, if you turned in late faculty initiated withdrawals the W’s will NOT be reflected on these rosters. The rosters were run the night of May 9 so withdrawals turned in that day or any day after May 9 will not show on the grade roster. If you are using the bubble sheet, leave the grade blank and write ON THE BACK that you withdrew the student late. If you are using the 115 screen put a JJJ in the space for the grade. When the withdrawal is processed the W will replace the JJJ.

Grades are due by noon on Tuesday, May 30. Grade reports are run that night. Students need their final grades for graduation and for applications to other colleges. Late grades jeopardize both. Please turn your grades in on time.

If you are grading on line (115 screen, NOT MAT SCREEN!) you will need to know your cycle number. This number is printed on your grade roster. The Damon cycle number is 91. There are two cycle numbers for Brighton, 87 and 89. Most Brighton courses will be in cycle 89 but varied length courses will be in cycle 87. The 115 screen is now open for spring grading.

Let’s make the last time we have to use bubble sheets for grading a good experience for all of us. As I mentioned above, some of the rosters are out of alignment. We will most likely have to hand input those grades so it is especially important that you both bubble in the grade (we will attempt to scan it first) and write the grade in the grade column so we can process the grade roster efficiently if it doesn’t scan.

Good luck with the frenetic end of the semester. We share your pain.
