New Benefit: Long-Term Care Insurance

Since medicine is extending our life expectancy, the need for long-term care has never been greater. This need may arise at any time, at any age, due to an unexpected accident or illness, or simply because we get older. In fact, 40 percent of long-term care recipients are working-age adults. Additionally, long-term care costs are expensive, often leading to catastrophic financial loss.

To address this need and at my request, the Human Resources Office researched and compared various long-term care options. Based upon these findings, I am pleased to announce an addition to your benefit portfolio - Long-Term Insurance through MedAmerica, an Excellus Company.

Very soon, you will receive more information from the Human Resources Office about this new optional, employee-paid benefit, along with a schedule of enrollment informational meetings. I encourage you to attend one of these sessions and consider this benefit option.

As always, the College will continue to explore opportunities to better serve the well-being of its college family.
